With the Major League Baseball playoffs underway, eight Big Ten programs have alums on big league rosters in pursuit of a World Series ring. Including former two-way standout, Spencer Schwellenbach, who ended the season on the 25-man roster but is not on the Braves’ Wild Card round roster due to pitching the day before, Nebraska leads the 17 Big Ten programs with four players on the roster of MLB teams playing in October.
For teams competing in the Wild Card round, the Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros each have two players on the postseason roster from current Big Ten programs.
